newCompetition Essentials™

The two-step approach to support normal lung function and integrity.

During an intense performance your horse’s 20-pound heart will pump blood at the rate of five quarts per second. Its heart rate may rise above 250 beats per minute and its systolic blood pressure can exceed 300 mmHg.

These numbers are all considered normal for an all-out competition, but they don’t come without a price. While the heart and the veins and arteries that ferry blood throughout the body are able to withstand this degree of punishment, the fragile capillaries responsible for oxygen/CO2 exchange within the lungs can often become stressed beyond the bursting point. Whenever this occurs, the horse suffers—breathing is compromised, lung tissue becomes scarred and performance drops off.

Formula 707 Competition Essentials Training and Event Formulas were specifically developed to support and maintain your horse’s natural defenses against the ravages of intense competition while avoiding harmful side effects. These products contain no drugs, chemicals or artificial ingredients of any kind. They’re a synergistic pair of proprietary herbal formulas, both in a highly palatable flaxseed-meal base. Provide just two ounces per day of the Training Formula between competitions, then two ounces per day of the Event Formula, beginning two days prior to a competition.

There is simply no better way to maintain the integrity of your horse’s cardiovascular system when his competitive edge—and your next paycheck—are on the line.

newCalming Essentials™

Helps keep your horse calm and relaxed.

A horse that’s nervous, jumpy and easily distracted is hard to train, difficult to work with and dangerous to be around. While some horses are born nervous, others may suffer from environmentally induced stress.

Among the symptoms of low magnesium are nervousness, muscle tremors, a lusterless hair coat and intolerance to work or exercise; Thiamine deficiency may be expressed in nervousness, irritability, excitability, elevated blood lactate and pyruvate, and muscle cramping. Both are more likely to occur in horses on a high-carbohydrate (i.e. high-grain) diet.

New Formula 707 Calming Essential Pellets uses premium quality magnesium oxide to maximize bioavailability and combines it with two of the agents best known to have a calming effect in horses: thiamine and L-tryptophan.

A three-part solution

Thiamine, a vitamin of the B complex, has long been known to have a calming effect on some horses when used in higher doses of 500+ mg/day. Thiamine requires magnesium to be converted to its active form within the body and works with supplemental calcium to achieve its calming effect.

L-tryptophan is a vital precursor to serotonin and melatonin, important neurotransmitters associated with behavior, L-tryptophan is widely used in equine calming agents.

Taken together on a daily basis, the three-part solution of magnesium oxide, thiamine and L-tryptophan in Formula 707 Calming Essentials can help muscle-tight horses relax and focus on their work or training.

newGastro Essentials™

Use to maintain a healthy gastric system and support mormal digestive function.

Horses that can’t graze at will continue to produce stomach acids even when there’s nothing to digest. This can lead to ulcerations of the stomach lining and poor appetite — not to mention diminished performance and meager general condition. Formula 707 Gastro Essentials is an effective combination of ingredients to aid digestions and mitigate the effects of acid on the stomach lining. Check out the success stories at Formula707.com, then try it and see the difference for yourself.

Every hour, the parietal cells lining a horse’s stomach secrete more than six cups of concentrated acid — it’s part of the digestive processes of an animal meant to graze all day and all night. When horses can’t graze at will — and many horses can’t — the acid production in their stomach doesn’t stop. Particularly for horses in high-stress training and performance situations, high-energy feed is quickly consumed and quickly digested, which means that, long after the stomach has emptied, the acid continues to flow.

Formula 707 Gastro Essentials has been specifically formulated with an effective combination of ingredients to aid digestion and mitigate the effects of acid on the stomach lining. Just two ounces of Formula 707 Gastro Essentials twice a day will maintain a healthy gastric system and help keep horses in top condition.

Restore™

Working horses need a balanced electrolyte to restore lost minerals after workouts.

Use to restore minerals lost from sweating.

Human athletes have come to understand the importance of replacing electrolytes to restore minerals lost in a vigorous workout. Because the same is true for equine athletes, we designed each 1½ oz. of Formula 707 Restore to replace the sodium, chloride, calcium, phosphorus, potassium and magnesium lost in a liter of sweat. Since many horses won’t drink water with electrolytes, Restore is a top-dressing for feed with a highly palatable yeast culture as its carrier. Add one scoop to feed after a mild workout or event, two or more following a hard workout or event.
Available in: 5 lb. (53 servings), 10 lb.- shown above (106 servings)

Psyllium Pellets

Administer for just three days once a month to promote healthy digestion.

Use to avoid the discomfort associated with sand colic.

Some horses grazing short pastures end up consuming significant quantities of sand and dirt. To help them eliminate it efficiently – and avoid the discomfort associated with sand colic – Formula 707 Psyllium Pellets are made from psyllium seed husks. For monthly maintenance, give horses 2 oz. daily for three consecutive days.

Available in: 3 lb. (12 servings), 12 lb. - shown above (48 servings), 25 lb. (100 servings), 50 lb. (200 servings).

Digestive Essentials Probiotic

Helps all horses utilize their feed more efficiently.

Use to support healthy gut balance.

Horses use bacteria in the gut to help them digest food. Particularly after the administration of antibiotics, Digestive Essentials helps re-flourish bacteria to insure healthy digestion. Formula 707 Digestive Essentials is superior to other probiotics because it has a larger colony count per serving, microencapsulated bacteria for easier absorption, viable yeast cells and supplemental enzymes. Digestive Essentials has also proven to be beneficial during transitional periods such as:

  • • A change in feed or housing
    • Before, during and after transportation
    • Weaning and/or during growth stages
    • When animals go off feed
    • During gestation on bred mares

Thiamax™

Vitamin B1 is natural help for horses under stress.

Use when nervousness interferes with performance.

Studies show that many performance horses can be helped by the addition of thiamin (vitamin B1) to their diets. If a performance horse on good nutrition shows a loss of weight or appetite, a dull coat, muscle tremors, cramps, diarrhea or nervousness, there is a good chance that Thiamax can help. Thiamax is pure thiamine mononitrate in a stable, palatable wheat germ base that your horse will eat right out of your hand.

DMG

Better use of oxygen means more energy and quicker recovery in performance horses.

Use to optimize the transport of oxygen for more efficient respiration.

Research on DMG (dimethylglycine) goes back more than 30 years where it was observed that DMG improved the racing time of faders. Today, DMG’s role in transporting oxygen across the cell to the mitochondria is well understood. DMG can help improve performance, stamina, cardiovascular function, oxygen utilization and muscle recovery. It has also been shown to reduce lactic acid buildup and optimize respiratory function.
Available in: 3 lb. (48 servings), 5 lb. (80 servings), 20 lb. - shown above (320 servings).

Selen-X™

An easy-to-feed selenium supplement for horses without access to quality forage.

Use to combat selenium deficiency.

Selenium is an essential mineral for horses, and although most horses get adequate amounts if they have access to natural pasture, horses in the northeast, northwest, Atlantic coast and Florida may not get enough. Also, Selenium is often lost during the processing of hay and feed. Selenium deficiency may display as muscular dystrophy or white muscle disease, especially in young horses, and adversely affects reproduction, resulting in a large percentage of retained placentas.Selen-X is highly palatable and consists of wheat germ meal, salt, and four mgs. of selenium per ounce.
Available in: 8 lb. - shown above (256 servings), 20 lb. (640 servings)

Super-E™ and Super-E™ with Selenium Pellets

Extra Vitamin E is especially important to horses without access to high-quality pasture.

Use to promote fertility and conception rates in broodmares and to support general health.

Vitamin E is well-known as an important antioxidant which scavenges the free radicals in the blood, making it a vital component in improving stamina. In numerous studies, it has also been shown to help in muscle problems such as tying up, and to promote fertility and conception in mares as well as reproductive performance in stallions. Formula 707 Super-E is pelletized in a highly-palatable wheat germ base. For those wishing to add selenium to their horse’s diet, Super-E with Selenium contains 2 mgs of selenium in each one-ounce serving.
