The John Ewing Company was founded in 1946 as a manufacturer of animal feed. It operates today, as it has for most of its existence, from the town of LaSalle, Colorado, in a rich agricultural region near Greeley, about an hour north of Denver. Click here to learn more about our company history.
With the creation of Formula 707 in the early 70s, the John Ewing Company became a major player in the equine nutritional supplements market and today manufactures an entire line of Formula 707 horse health products.

Message From the President
Like many of the people who work here, horses are a vital part of my life. I got my first horse as a young girl, and spent my teenage years going to 4H events, jackpots and rodeos. When I got married, I married a horseman. When we had a daughter, we put her on a horse. Even though I’m not the young girl I once was, we still compete in team roping and barrel racing whenever we can.
I have always thought horses were God’s most magnificent creatures. It was only natural that my path led me to a place where I could work for the improvement of horses’ lives. When I joined the Formula 707 family 15 years ago, there was already a long tradition of making the finest products for horses and their owners. Since that day it has been my goal to help them live longer, run faster, jump higher and maintain the best quality of life possible.
The founder of the company, John Ewing was a meticulous man and a stickler for quality at every step of manufacturing process. This tradition continued and evolved under the leadership of Chris Shaver, making Formula 707 a world leader in the industry for the 21st century. Now, after Chris’ passing, I have been entrusted to carry forward both of their legacies. We will continue to search for the purest ingredients; we will take the utmost care in every step of the manufacturing process to make sure our products always have the same consistent high quality and freshness that you and your horse deserve.
We still use many of the same formulations John Ewing himself developed. But while tradition is our foundation, our focus is on the future. This catalog contains
many new products including Formula 707 Gastro Essentials™ and Formula 707 Calming Essentials™; convenient single-does paste versions of Restore™, Performance Essentials™, and Digestive Essentials™; and our antifungal, antibacterial Tea Tree™ Shampoo. And while all your old favorites are here as well, we never stop working to bring you new and better ways to care for your horses, small pets, and even yourself.

- Develop and implement a National Adverse Event Reporting System
- Form a Scientific Advisory Panel, consisting of recognized experts
